Search Engine Optimization or SEO on your website articles.
When writing an article for your website, make sure that it is of a
length that is optimal for SEO efforts.
Articles that are between 200 and 500 words
should fit into this category. Even if SEO (search engine optimization)
is not your goal, it is still a good idea to keep your articles
between this word count for your visitors. They more than likely will not
finish your article if it is longer than this.
Most readers do not read a webpage as they would read a book,
so the shorter the better.
Split a long article into more pages and title them so your visitor
can pick which pages they want to read.
The importance of keywords in your article placement.
Keyword density and placement are important parts of optimizing
your articles for SEO and the search engines.
Search engine spiders crawl a page in a way that makes it
important to place your keywords where they will be detected
and recognized as a keyword, so your article or post as the case may be
will come up when someone searches for that keyword or a phrase with
that keyword included.
Keyword words and what they are.
A keyword is a word that is going to be placed in your article
several times, and usually will be related to the
articles subject that you are trying to convey to your visitor.
When a search engine spider sees that word placed several
times in an article, it will determine that your page may be
useful to users that search for such a keyword.
It is important to convey that there is also such a thing as inserting
to many keywords into your articles for particular words, as
this is known as “keyword stuffing“.
When you stuff keywords in an article a search engine
spider will detect that you are trying to trick it.
Trying to stuff your article to get a high placing
in the search engine results for that word,
will instead penalize your site and your page for doing such a thing.
This might even affect the rankings of your other pages or get your
site de-indexed from a search engine like Googleâ„¢, if you repeat
your keyword dozens of times.
Keyword Density
Keyword density is the amount of times your keyword is inserted
into your article.
Most writers use a percentage to determine how many times they
will put a keyword in an article. It goes like this if you have a 500
word article and want to end with a keyword density of 5%, then
the amount of keywords in your article would end with exactly 25
keyword instances.
You can find hundreds of guides recommending
one keyword density over another one and their reasoning
for doing so, but, when all is said and done it will be you
who will have to decide which density is best for your articles.
Density of a keyword in an article.
Which exact density you may so choose, you will want to place
keywords so there are more at the beginning and the end of your article
that will produce an effect like an hour glass. I would suggest keyword
density between 2-3%. Having the right keyword density in your
article makes it more likely that article will rise in the search engine
results and will be seen by more people.
